etherealites.

Etherealites are false forms made from direct light. Instead of using lenses, I shape and filter the light by hand to control its intensity before it hits a bare sensor. During processing, patterns and structures emerge that resemble the forms of cells, wings, or waves.

Conventional photography records reflected light; I wanted to capture the light itself. My goal was to create something from nothing, and to come as close as possible to a pure act of creation.
